troops

troops
This would theoretically be addressed to a troop of soldiers, but in War Brides, by Lois Battle, a father uses it to his family. The man concerned is in military uniform as he speaks, though he is in the navy rather than the army: ‘Have you got everything, Dawn?’ he asked, the authoritarian tone returning to his voice. ‘Okay, troops, let’s move out. In order now. Faye, you take your sister’s hand and lead the way. Your mother and I will bring up the rear. Ready, march.’
